An MEP Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing components in a project function optimally and meet safety and efficiency standards.
Job Summary:
The MEP Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in construction projects. This role requires expertise in MEP systems and involves working closely with architects, contractors, and other engineers to ensure project specifications are met. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of building codes, standards, and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and Development:
· Develop, design, and oversee MEP systems for residential, commercial, or industrial buildings.
· Create detailed engineering plans and drawings for MEP systems using software like Auto CAD, Revit, or BIM tools.
· Calculate and analyze loads, capacities, and other critical specifications.
Project Management:
· Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure MEP systems align with project requirements.
· Prepare project timelines, budgets, and material requirements, ensuring they align with client expectations and cost constraints.
· Oversee the installation, commissioning, and testing of MEP systems to verify compliance with design standards.
· Ensure that all MEP systems adhere to relevant building codes, standards, and safety regulations.
· Conduct inspections and audits to identify areas of improvement or necessary repairs and replacements.
Technical Support and Problem-Solving:
Troubleshoot issues in MEP systems and provide solutions for any design or operational problems that arise.
Recommend energy-efficient and sustainable solutions to enhance building system performance.
· Stay updated with the latest MEP engineering advancements, energy-efficient technologies, and sustainable design practices.
Participate in training programs and conferences to further develop technical expertise.
Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering, or a related field
• 3-5 years of experience in MEP engineering, preferably in construction.
• Proficiency in MEP design software (Auto CAD, Revit MEP, BIM).
• Knowledge of building codes, standards, and safety regulations.
• Strong project management and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills for collaborating with team members and stakeholders.

Preferred Skills:

• LEED or similar certification.
• Experience with sustainable and energy-efficient design practices.
• Understanding of HVAC systems and renewable energy solutions.

Work Environment: This position may involve both office and on-site work, with occasional travel to project sites. The MEP Engineer must be comfortable working in construction settings and able to adhere to safety protocols at all times.
