Job Summary
To gain exposure to all aspects of the Wellness department, the wellness industry and functional insight. Be mentored and learn from senior Managers. Example projects could include market research, drafting proposals and supporting service and product configurations. After completing this program, the intern will have learned how a real wellness department works and will be fully immersed in the Rosewood culture.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
General Duties

• Displays a friendly and professional attitude at all times, consistently contributing to a positive work environment.

• Maintain company confidentiality, ensuring that business dealings within the organization are not discussed with outside parties.

• Ensures alignment with the Rosewood culture and Rosewood operational standards.

• Maintains a good professional appearance complying with hotel’s grooming and uniform standards and behaves in a mature and proficient manner in and out of the workplace.

• Respects schedules and timeliness while being flexible based on business needs.

• Monitors and maintains cleanliness and working condition of departmental equipment, supplies and work areas.

• Learns and follows safety standards and emergency procedures.

• Promotes positive relations with guests, vendors and associates alike.

• Always promotes a can-do attitude to any guest requests and recognizes that guest service and attention to detail is your top priority.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the creation of market analysis, product comparisons and research projects.

• Assist in the development or conceptualization of marketing and materials.

• Assist with fulfillment of wellness offers as required.

• Assist with the preparation and delivery of training materials.

• Perform analysis of market, inventory and sales data.

• Prepare presentations.

• Support the configuration and setup of the Asaya software programs.

• Performs all other duties as directed by management that are consistent with the policies and procedures of the hotel.

Learning Objectives
Throughout the duration of the internship, the intern will learn how to:

• Understand the dimensions of wellness, the various factors affecting each dimension, and how dimensions are interrelated.

• Identify and define the common business terminology used in the Wellness and pre-opening setting.

• Understand the management of the pre-opening process in a Wellness setting.

Standard Responsibilities

• Comply and adhere to the Rosewood company policies.

• Take on other tasks in addition of the ones stated, in a reasonable framework.

• Be a “brand ambassador” at all times and ensure brand integrity and clarity are always maintained.

• Maintain an understanding of the wellness industry and Asaya philosophy (emotional, physical, nutrition, skin health, community).

• Understand that as a representative of Asaya they will maintain a healthy, fit appearance and a positive attitude.

• Model the Company’s culture, vision, mission, and core values at all times.

• Be mindful of and active in a Spa & Wellness lifestyle and strive to inspire wellness-focused change in others.

• Maintain personal grooming and appearance according to the standards.

• Maintain a positive attitude toward guests, associates, and hotel management. Avoid engaging in inappropriate conversations that may diminish the direction and goals of the hotel and the hotel group.

Confidentiality
Whist working for the company there will be access to a wide variety of confidential information concerning the company, guests and associates. It is vital that all such information remains confidential and must not be disclosed to anyone outside the company, guests and employees, unless otherwise stated.
Health & Safety

• Be aware of and comply with safe working practices as laid down under the Health and Safety Act as applicable to your place of work. This will include your awareness of any specific hazards at your workplace.

• The wearing of appropriate protective clothing provided by or recommended by the Company will be obligatory.

• Report any defects in the building, plant or equipment according to hotel procedure.

• Ensure that any accidents to staff, guests or visitors are reported immediately in accordance with correct procedures.

• Attend Statutory Fire, Health & Safety training and be fully conversant with and abide by all rules concerning Fire, Health & Safety.
