BI Architect

- Work closely with various departments and business stakeholders to understand their data needs.
- Work with diverse development teams to design and implement efficient data models for BI reporting.
- Working with Finance stakeholders to support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Transform and clean data to support reporting and data model needs.
- Develop or support business leads in creation of interactive and visually compelling reports and dashboards.
- Develop and implement best in practices for report building.
- Optimize BI reports and dashboard for performance.
- Provide support for any performance-related or service desk issues.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies related to data and BI reporting.
- Multiple years of hands-on reports development, reports migration, report platforms experience with more than one platform like Power BI, thoughtspot, MSTR, Cognos, SAS etc.
- Leading by example a team of experienced business intelligence developers.
- 10+ years’ Experience working in business intelligence, analytics, and reporting in an enterprise environment.
- 10+ years of Power BI and SSRS experience.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Power Platform Architecture & Solutioning experience with specific to Power BI for various customer scenarios & preferences.
- Expert in DAX expressions / Power Query / Power BI service.
- Advanced knowledge of SQL queries.
- Design and develop complex reports in Power BI – create and publish Power BI reports & dashboards.
- Hands on Experience with Power BI Report Builder.
- Hands-on SSAS Tabular models, Multidimensional models.
- Hands-on Data modeling, dimensional modeling, star schema, snowflake schema.
- Creating Hierarchies, aggregations, partitions, calculated measures, Role level securities.
- Good understanding of facts and Dimensions.
- Knowledge of model deployment to Azure Analysis services.
- Other reporting experience:
- Experience performance tuning of Power BI reports / SQL (Review and optimize execution plans, indexes).
- Migration of on-prem legacy reports (for example, Cognos /Tableau/Crystal) BI tools to Power BI.
- Experience working closely with users in a self-serve model.
- Retail domain experience.
- Experience with Agile.
- Key skillsets: Azure Power BI (DAX, Power Query, Power BI Report Builder), SQL queries, Azure Analysis Services, Microsoft Power Apps, SSRS or other reporting tools such as Cognos, Tableau, Crystal Reports, Azure Data Platform (ADLS, Azure data bricks, ADO, ADF, Azure Synapse).
