Our client is in the process of transitioning our on-premise software from Sybase to Postgre SQL, and we are seeking a skilled developer to join our team for this important project. What you'll be doing
- You will be working on a Database Migration Project: transition from Sybase to Postgre SQL
- We are converting our applications to a different database, so SQL knowledge is important
What you'll bring along
- A University Degree or Advanced Diploma in a Software Engineering related discipline, preferably in Computer Science, or equivalent experience
- At least 3-5 years of experience on a similar role
- Proficiency in C++ with a strong understanding of database access methods such as ODBC, ADO.NET, and SQL
- Experience with Visual C++, Win32, and MFC is crucial to help support our legacy systems during the migration
- Solid SQL knowledge is essential, as the initial task will involve assisting in managing database conversions
- Familiarity with C# and Postgre SQL would be an advantage, as these are core technologies in our new architecture
- While our team primarily communicates in English, occasional meetings with other teams are conducted in German. Thus, knowledge of German would be beneficial but is not a strict requirement. We are open to candidates who may not be immediately available but will be ready to start in the near future
