What we’re looking for
We are looking for a new colleague to join the Senior management team of the Finance Department in Orange Romania, as Head of Accounting & Tax.
The main objective of our Head of Accounting & Tax will be to develop the accounting and fiscal strategy and policies, aligned with the complete financial strategy.
We are looking for an experienced finance leader, with a proven success track record in similar high exposure roles, who could play a crucial role in driving the company's profitability.

What you’ll be doing
Here are some of the most important activities and responsibilities that the new Head of Accounting & Tax will have:
- Ensure company compliance with all regulatory requirements regarding individual and consolidated financial reporting (local policies per OMFP, IFRS, and group accounting).
- Analyze draft laws and current laws to avoid legal challenges in all financial reports.
- Coordinate the company's accounting and tax operations, identifying and planning actions to resolve interdepartmental issues.
- Provide accurate accounting and tax reports (trial balances, mandatory ledgers, VAT journals, etc.).
- Ensure deadlines are met for preparing and submitting individual and consolidated financial statements and tax declarations.
- Conduct studies and develops solutions to improve accounting processes as part of the transformation of the Accounting & Tax sub-department.

Lead digital transformation by driving continuous improvements focused on simplifying, enhancing, and automating processes.
- Design and perform internal control over processes, activities, and the accuracy of accounting records, thereby safeguarding company assets.
- Act as the company's liaison with external auditors, tax consultants, the Orange Group, and state authorities on accounting and tax matters.
- Create the sub-department's budget and monitors its usage.
- Ensure the organization of the company’s annual inventory.
- Is responsible for implementing and maintaining the company's accounting policy, ensuring reporting aligns with local (Ministry of Finance Order) and international (IFRS) accounting requirements.
- Maintain accurate accounting and tax reports (trial balances, mandatory ledgers, VAT journals, etc.).

Liaise with external auditors, consultants, the Orange Group, and state authorities on accounting and tax matters.
- Prepare official accounting reports (individual and consolidated financial statements, annual, semi-annual, and monthly) as well as the company’s tax declarations and non-financial statements.
- Prepares periodic reports for the CFO, Group, and local authorities.
- Reports on the company’s financial performance and provides commentary on the results.
What you need to know/have
- Outstanding leadership skills
- University degree in Accounting and Management Information Systems
- Experience in a similar role, in a multinational company - at least 5 years
- English - fluent
- French (represents an advantage)
- Experience in using Oracle Fusion and Oracle EBS
- Experience in using SAP Magnitude
- Ability to manage task completion under tight deadlines and flexibility to manage changing priorities
- Familiar with automation through RPA, AI, and other technologies
- Up to date with new regulations (E-invoice, SAF-T, e-transport, Pillar 2)
- Ability to deliver results through other team members while maintaining control and quality
- The ability to focus on the big picture while paying attention to details.
