About the Role : This is an FTC role ( 24 months )


Summary :
We are creating our next generation technology platform and applications through re-usable cloud services. We are building cloud native applications using various AWS technologies within a micro-service architecture and an API first approach.


You will be joining a key project developing the cloud platform that will shape the future of all IRIS products and will gain exposure to many new and exciting technologies along the way.


Working in a cross-functional agile engineering team, including engineers with a wide range of skills, this role is a key position in leading the technical solutions for a team working on major strategic projects.


The role involves helping to advise on the best technical solutions available as well as researching and implementation those solutions. The role requires you to have a wide range of technical skills, which you are able to utilize efficiently to help the team achieve its goals. You will be able to create detailed design documentation and be comfortable presenting your designs to a wide range of audiences.


You will be happy working in a scrum team that has clearly defined sprint goals and be effective in contributing towards priority discussion and estimation processes.


Responsibilities :
Helping to design enterprise level architectures with the Scrum team and in conjunction with the wider architecture team.
Where necessary creating detailed design documentation and presenting it to a wide range of audiences.
Working closely with the team to ensure prompt completion of sprint goals.
Working with stakeholders across IRIS Group to agree on technical direction.
Mentor colleagues providing advice and guidance on best practice and development techniques.
Continually learning and advising on new approaches or solutions.
Working closely with Development Operations to ensure high standards of delivery


Experience :


Must Have -

• Advanced skills in a wide range of programming languages (C#, Node js)
• Good front end experience in a mainstream JS framework (React, Angular, Vue)
• Extensive experience of APIs and Web services
• Excellent understanding of Microservice architectures
• Strong back end and Database skills (Postgre SQL, Mongo DB, etc.)
• Extensive experience of cloud Saa S platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Experience with test automation software (x Unit, Mocha, Postman)
• Advanced knowledge of GIT
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD systems & pipelines (Jenkins, Teamcity, Etc.)
• Experience mentoring and leading technical sessions
• Strong foundations in security considerations
• Excellent communication skills
• Experience working in an Agile software development environment
• Solid object orientated programming knowledge and knowledge of software architectural patterns (MVC, MVVM)
• Good understanding of SOLID development principles

Desirable -

• Experience of monitoring and logging techniques
• Enterprise level service bus experience
