Job Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Entry-Level Accountant to join our finance team. This position is ideal for recent graduates or candidates with limited professional experience in accounting. The Entry-Level Accountant will assist with day-to-day accounting tasks, ensuring accurate financial record-keeping, processing transactions, and preparing reports. The successful candidate will be a quick learner, with a strong grasp of accounting principles and a willingness to develop their skills in a professional environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Financial Record Keeping:
- Assist with maintaining accurate financial records, including journals, ledgers, and accounts.
- Help enter financial transactions into accounting software or spreadsheets.
- Ensure proper documentation and filing of financial records.

Accounts Payable and Receivable Support:
- Assist with processing vendor invoices and ensuring timely payments.
- Help track outstanding customer invoices and follow up on overdue accounts.
- Reconcile accounts payable and receivable to ensure accuracy.

Month-End Closing Assistance:
- Support the month-end closing process by preparing journal entries and reconciling accounts.
- Assist with the preparation of financial reports, such as balance sheets and income statements.

Bank Reconciliation:
- Assist with reconciling company bank accounts and credit card statements.
- Ensure discrepancies are identified and resolved in a timely manner.

Data Entry and Report Generation:
- Enter data into accounting software, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Assist with generating financial reports for internal and external use.
- Help prepare budgets and financial forecasts as required.

Expense Tracking:
- Track company expenses and ensure they are recorded in the appropriate accounts.
- Monitor expenditures to ensure compliance with the company’s financial policies.

Tax Support:
- Assist in the preparation of sales tax filings, income tax returns, and other tax-related documentation.
- Ensure that the company remains in compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations.

General Administrative Support:
- Perform general office duties such as filing, organizing documents, and scanning.
- Assist with any ad-hoc accounting tasks and special projects as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience: No prior professional accounting experience required. Relevant internships or coursework will be considered.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (basic formulas, data entry). Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., Quick Books, Xero, etc.) is a plus but not required.
- Knowledge: Basic understanding of accounting principles (e.g., debits, credits, financial statements).
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail when handling financial data.
- Communication Skills: Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Time Management: Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to Learn: Open to receiving training and actively developing skills in accounting and finance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Internship or volunteer experience in accounting or finance is a plus.
- Exposure to accounting software or enterprise resource planning.
- Basic understanding of tax preparation or financial reporting processes.
