The British International School of Jeddah (BISJ) is seeking a skilled and dedicated English as an Additional Language (EAL) Teacher to join our Primary Section. The ideal candidate will provide targeted support to students requiring English language assistance, creating a supportive and engaging environment that promotes language development and academic progress. This role also includes leading an extracurricular club that aligns with the school’s mission and values.

Key Responsibilities:

Assess, plan, and deliver effective language interventions for EAL students, supporting individual and group learning needs.
Act as a language role model, promoting English development at every opportunity.
Work closely with teachers and the Student Support Team to identify EAL needs and implement learning strategies.
Maintain records of interventions and their impact on student progress and communicate regularly with teachers and parents.
Participate in parent-teacher conferences, staff meetings, and provide INSET training for primary staff on EAL strategies.
Lead an extracurricular club, ensuring adherence to all health, safety, and safeguarding standards.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
Teaching qualification or certification.
Strong understanding of strategies and best practices for supporting language development.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with students, parents, and colleagues.
Strong organisational skills for record-keeping, data management, and documentation.
Commitment to professional growth and collaboration within the school community.
