We are looking for a Protection Engineer (HVDC) to be based in Riyadh. The successful candidate will be responsible for defining the project scope, goals, and project deliverables to support the business objectives in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders. Develop full-scale project plans and associated communications documents. Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel and monitor project performance.

We are looking for a Protection Engineer (HVDC) to be based in Riyadh. Role Requirement:

With a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferably in Electric Power Engineering or Electrical Engineering.

This role requires strong Project Management skills, technical expertise with min experience of 5 years and have executed at least one HVDC project independently.

Developing project plans, timelines, and budgets for HVDC projects.

Coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project goals are met.

Leading project teams and providing direction to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.

Engage with clients to develop and determine the HVDC system’s design parameters
-
Ensure adherence to and compliance with the client’s expectations, requirements, policies and processes throughout all phases of the project.

Monitoring and controlling project progress, identifying and addressing risks and issues as they arise.

Technical coordination of System Design deliveries as well as managing the risks and identifying opportunities to reduce time and cost while ensuring quality requirements are met.

Managing project resources and ensuring they are allocated effectively.

Communicating project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders, including senior management.

Managing Stakeholders interface and expectations
-
Leading project meetings, providing regular updates, and facilitating decision-making.
-
Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, safety standards, and industry best practices.

Providing technical expertise and guidance on HVDC project requirements and solutions.
-
Evaluating project performance, identifying lessons learned, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.

Active participation in Management of Change procedures

Evaluating Design Changes and Concession requests
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in electrical engineering, particularly in protection systems and substation design.
- Proficient in reviewing control and protection schematics and technical documents.
- Knowledge of SAS systems, CT, CVT, PT applications, and relay protection functions.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with client discussions and document approvals.
- Experience in factory acceptance testing and vendor offer evaluation.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team and manage deadlines effectively.
