Contract - Research Officer

[What the role is]
Every year, NAC collates a substantial amount of data pertaining to arts activities and organizations from various sources including major arts venues, ticketing agencies and government agencies for the annual Singapore Cultural Statistics published by MCCY. Research officers will help to compile the statistics and data entry on arts and cultural companies and societies, as well as information on visual arts exhibitions.

[What you will be working on]

1. Comb through newspapers, media listings and online sources for visual arts and literary arts activities
2. Update the list of performing arts, visual arts, literary arts venues in Singapore from these various sources
3. Obtain additional details of arts and cultural organizations and societies based on raw listings through online searches and phone enquiries
4. Enter and clean up relevant data from the above into NAC’s arts statistics database
5. Update and organize previous cultural statistics databases

[What we are looking for]

1. Basic MS Excel skills (e.g. basic calculation formulas, sorting and searching functions) as staff will need to sort the data and perform basic calculations.
2. Telephone and conversational skills for conducting phone enquiries for details on arts organizations.
