This position includes enabling application, research & development of fortified food products, raw material innovation and process engineering. The position requires a solid understanding of food nutrition, QA/QC and regulatory functions, a customer service focus and good interpersonal skills. The formulation development technologist will provide knowledge and expertise in technical aspects of nutritional fortification and formulations to the business and be able to effectively communicate with customers, peers and the wider business. The role aims to add value to dsm-firmenich by forging new business partnerships and strengthening existing business relations.

Your key responsibilities

• Use appropriate information according to country food regulations and other relevant information to support the design of premixes for products exported to various countries, create the formulation & provide technical support to internal, external dsm-firmenich stakeholders
• Interact with local regulatory OR local plant formulator Lead (if needed) to confirm that formulation meets local requirements
• Support AM’s and customers for the modification in recipe (trend analysis)
• Troubleshoot formulations based on end applications and manage customer complaints regarding formulations
• Support RM supplier qualifications and RM knowledge development and new raw material qualification
• Support performance or application studies with premixes and new ingredients and continue to develop knowledge of dsm-firmenich ingredients and their applications

You bring

• Minimum a Bachelors’ Degree in Chemistry, Food, Nutrition or Pharmaceutical Science
• Industry experience at least 5-10 years in product development of dietary supplements, food ingredients and “go to” market projects
• Broad view on industry markets in dietary supplements, early life nutrition, dairy, pharmaceutical, confectionary and baking
• Project management experience
