Technical Skills Requirements

The Personnel shall have the following technical skills:

• Possess a certificate from the Institute of Technical Education ("ITE') in a relevant course or has at least two (2) years of experience in the telecommunications/data centre related industry in the operational field.
  

• Possess a valid Work At Height (WAH) Certification
  

• Possess a class three (3) driving license for vehicles and be able to work independently without supervision.
  

Non-Technical Skills Requirements (Business Skills)


The Personnel shall have the following non-technical skills:

• Must be a customer oriented and a good team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
  

• Must have good stakeholder management skills to deal with End Users from the Business Units
  

• Need to be physically fit as the tasks involved daily need the support personnel to travel across all client premises.
  

• Strong written and oral communication skills. Proficiency in oral and written English

Job Description / Services

Purpose & Relevant Skillset
The Personnel will be an addition to the existing ICT Facilities Operations team


The team is currently based at our data centre but will also need to go on site as part of the operations support where necessary.


Key responsibilities include the following, but not limited to:


1) Day-to-day installation and maintenance of services, within compliance to the safety regulations mandated by the Singapore Law.
The services to be supported include, but are not limited to:
i. Offsite backup tape maintenance
ii. Port operations maintenance support includes;


a. Cranes maintenance - visual checks on network devices, power cable, UTP, fibre for any physical damages and checking for fibre losses


b. Lighting mast maintenance – to facilitate the lowering of lighting mast together with other counterparts in client


c. Onsite power maintenance – checks on cables for loose ends and make sure equipment are powered after any power maintenance.
iii. Cabling Works including terminating of low voltage single phase electrical power (ceeforms) cables, fiber optic cable and structure cabling related which closely related to data centre operations across


i. Cabling Works including terminating of low voltage single phase electrical power (ceeforms) cables, fiber optic cable and structure cabling related which closely related to data centre operations across multiple sites in client


iv. Supervise and escort contractors to facilitate replacement of hardware/ equipment i.e. network switches and servers.


v. Involve in relocation/ redeployment/ movement of
hardware/equipment i.e. network switches and servers from premise to premise


vi. Basic network and PC troubleshooting


2) Co-ordination with end user from Business Units


i. Co-ordinate with end user from Business Units to resolve issues and also provide and restore in-scope services. This includes Installation of patch cords, testing and troubleshooting of circuit onsite and liaising with third parties' vendors, if necessary.


ii. Provide periodic update to end user on the progress of the execution of the required work


3) Updating of databases and documentation


4) Support other IT related activities when required .


5) Remote standby for support
There will not be additional charges to client for work outside office hours.


The personnel is required to be on remote standby for 1 week per month for any activation of support outside of office hours. Time off will be given during normal working hours of the next day in the event of such activation.
