Job Description
Option #1: Intern Geosciences and Remediation Services (Environment), Singapore
Responsibilities:
- Work on site assessment and remediation related projects, under supervision, in accordance to client requirements, local regulations and international standards;
- Perform site visit/inspection/assessment with senior consultant and supervise subcontractors as required for the projects handled;
- Assist in writing technical reports to present the findings, analysis and recommendations using Arc GIS, Microsoft Office, g INT, and other softwares;
- Support other environmental consultancy projects in Singapore and other regions as and when required;
- Ability to work on a combination of these services will be highly regarded;
- Contributing to project presentations and client meetings with senior staff and Project Managers;
- Business development support for current and prospective clients;
- Comply with quality management on all work products;
- Task budgeting and scheduling control;
- Support lead consultant in projects and proposal management as well as administrative duties;
- Shall carry out duties in accordance with quality and environmental management system, health and safety policies and procedures; and
- Shall report quality, environmental, health and safety problems or any suggestions to his/her immediate superior.
Option #2: Intern Impact Assessment and Planning Services (Environment), Singapore
Responsibilities:
- Technical support working closely with senior staff and Project Managers.
- Contributing to environmental projects and business growth in Singapore, SE Asia, and Asia (depending project opportunities) on technical aspects of one or more of the following: Environmental Impact Assessment, Pollution Control Study, Environmental Health & Safety, Environmental Due Diligence, etc;
- May involve both field work for sampling and site reconnaissance and also a range of softwares knowledge such as AERMOD, CAL3QHCR, Sound Plan, Arc GIS, Visio, etc.;
- Coordination and working closely with biodiversity team to understand the relationship between physical (air, noise, vibration) and biological environment and learn to learn to analyse this in the technical reports;
- Ability to work on a combination of these services will be highly regarded;
- Contributing to project presentations and client meetings with senior staff and Project Managers;
- Business development support for current and prospective clients;
- Comply with quality management on all work products;
- Task budgeting and scheduling control;
- Support lead consultant in projects and proposal management as well as administrative duties;
- Shall carry out duties in accordance with quality and environmental management system, health and safety policies and procedures; and Shall report quality, environmental, health and safety problems or any suggestions to his/her immediate superior.
Responsibilities:
- Technical support working closely with senior staff and Project Managers.
- Contributing to environmental projects and business growth in Singapore, SE Asia, and Asia (depending project opportunities) on technical aspects of Environmental engineering and consultancy for water/ hydrological specialisation. These include projects such as impact assessment and planning, baseline studies, coastal adaptation and climate change related hydrology and water quality;
- May involve both field work for sampling and site reconnaissance and also a range of softwares knowledge such as Delft 3D, MIKE, SWMM, Arc GIS, etc.;
- Coordination and working closely with biodiversity team to understand the relationship between aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems and learn to analyse this in the technical reports;
- Ability to work on a combination of these services will be highly regarded;
- Contributing to project presentations and client meetings with senior staff and Project Managers;
- Business development support for current and prospective clients;
- Comply with quality management on all work products;
- Task budgeting and scheduling control;
- Support lead consultant in projects and proposal management as well as administrative duties;
- Shall carry out duties in accordance with quality and environmental management system, health and safety policies and procedures; and Shall report quality, environmental, health and safety problems or any suggestions to his/her immediate superior.
Responsibilities:
- Support technical advice on Noise, Vibration and Building Acoustics, working closely with Project Managers and Project Directors
- Contribute to environmental projects in Singapore, SE Asia, and Asia (depending on project opportunities) on the Noise and Vibration components
- Conduct Building Acoustics assessments
- Coordinate and face the Client to handle the financial aspects of the project and to ensure that the estimated budget is adequately tracked and suitable for the project team
- Be responsible for issued reports and associated technical output and be able to defend them with multinational clients and government agencies;
- Participate in key activities associated with the development of the Noise/ Vibration and Building Acoustics disciplines with the respective leads in each major country/region; attend monthly management meetings and participate in technical knowledge transfer sessions and technical conferences
- Shall carry out duties in accordance with quality and environmental management system, health and safety policies and procedures; and
- Shall report quality, environmental, health and safety problems or any suggestions to his/her immediate superior.
- Undergraduates studying in environmental sciences or engineering with a passion towards environment
- Ability to use modeling software/s will be a bonus but not mandatory as they can be taught during traineeship.
- Candidates with graphic skills such as Auto CAD will be highly regarded.
- Fluent spoken and written English.
- Strong communication skills (writing, speaking, and presentation) are essential qualities to successfully work on our teams with diverse disciplines and cultures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor or Master’s Degree or Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Planning, Geotechnical Engineering, Geology, Hydrology or related field
