The Managed Investments (" MI") team is responsible for the investment advisory and distribution and post-sales monitoring of in-house and third party, professionally managed, fund investment opportunities (including Alternatives fund investments), Advisory Portfolio Management (" APM") and Discretionary Portfolio Management (" DPM").
Job Description:
Advisory and Sales
- To grow AUM and increase the penetration of Managed Investments (funds, APM and DPM, Alternatives) through marketing and advice to RMs and clients. This involves maintaining strong collaboration with Relationship Managers/Investment Advisors.
- Be a liaison between the Fund Selection, PM&A, Real Estate, A PM and DPM teams and Front Office, articulating investment philosophy, process, performance, positioning and market outlook, as well as proactively identifying opportunities or client interest
- Conduct fund, APM and DPM review meetings with clients, and undertake group sales meetings with RMs from designated markets to provide them with focus ideas and updates
- Align the recommendation of funds to BOS's overall asset allocation models to achieve outperformance versus appropriate benchmarks
- Participate in Advisory team meetings with the Fund Selection, PM&A, Real Estate, DPM a nd APM team to help brainstorm new ideas and funds that should be prioritized for onboarding
- Demonstrate effective collaboration with other sales and research teams within Product Management Group (PMG), and other Bank of Singapore/OCBC departments.

The new hire will assist the [PMA]/ [REAI]/ [HF] team in the build-out of [PMA]/ [REAI]/ [HF] funds ("Private Market Funds") including, but not limited to:
- Originating & sourcing Private Markets Funds and maintaining a pipeline of Private Markets Funds to bring to the AIMS management team for discussion and consideration for potential on-boarding to BOS;
- Performing and leading Private Markets Funds on-boarding workstreams, including but not limited to, financial, commercial, operational, tax and legal due diligence and the completion of relevant internal checklists and processes for on-boarding, all in compliance with internal BOS policies and procedures;
- Reviewing and negotiating agreements, offering memoranda and documentation relating to the on-boarding and distribution of Private Markets Funds by BOS;
- Managing and liaising with legal, compliance, tax advisors and other service providers for the negotiation and drafting of legal documentation relating to Private Markets Funds;
- Preparing the internal BOS operations process and support for subscriptions, closings, capital calls, distributions, other related corporate actions and reporting processes for Private Markets Funds, as necessary;
- Preparing materials, completing relevant checklists and managing the internal approval process for the on-boarding and distribution of Private Markets Funds by BOS (including for presentation to Investment Committees), in addition to obtaining external approvals from any relevant regulatory or other relevant bodies;
- Preparing for and managing BOS bank-wide marketing, distribution and advisory of Private Markets Funds to BOS front office staff and making presentations to clients (including, but not limited to, launch materials, education materials, hosting training events, coordinating presentations by Private Markets Funds managers to front office staff or clients);
- Post on-boarding and distribution, the monitoring and reporting of a Private Markets Fund investment performance, any market related activity impacting a Private Markets Fund and continued eligibility to remain on the BOS platform and formulating and actioning any required follow up with BOS stakeholders including but not limited to Investment Advisors, Relationship Managers or other internal colleagues;
- Assisting with the monitoring and reporting of sales and revenue of Private Markets Funds;
- Preparing investment memos and client presentation materials related to Private Markets Fund manager recommendations, fund updates and other thematic discussion topics from time to time.
- Prepare and maintain DPM marketing and client materials including pitchbooks, presentations, proposals, client reporting, and performance commentaries.
- Support new DPM products and client communication efforts, including development of materials to help the Front Office explain portfolio strategy, risk and performance to clients of various levels of sophistication
- In conjunction with the DPM and MI Advisory teams, assist with new DPM product ideation and DPM product development
- Using data analytics tools, identify patterns of behaviour of clients across funds and assist to track client activity, particularly during focus / campaign periods
- Analyse business data and highlight any observable trends to the business to assist with planning and strategic initiatives Incorporate a 'targeted' approach to advisory, using data to customise ideas to specific RMs and clients
Platform / Client Experience
- With clients becoming increasingly digital in their interactions with the bank, the incumbent will be involved in strategic projects that help to reduce friction between the bank and the client, and deliver improvements in the way that we communicate digitally with our clients The incumbent will improve client experience through increasing the use of targeted messaging, as well as improve contextualization of our communication with our RMs and clients
Relationship Management with Fund House
- Manage the relationship with mutual fund houses including any negotiation of distribution agreements.
Qualifications
Work Experience Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years work experience in Asset Management/Private Bank as a product specialist, with experience in client engagement and customer experience
- Strong investments background, with solid knowledge of funds and DPM & APM across global equities, fixed income and alternative asset classes with a preference for candidates with strong knowledge of private markets including private real assets and hedge funds.
- Knowledge and hands on experience with data analytics tools such as Power BI, Tableau and/or Qlikview with the ability to interpret this data and draw conclusions
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills with the ability to project a high level of professionalism, and effectively communicate with clients, portfolio managers and management in small and large settings
- Experience in Python or similar coding language will be looked upon favorably
- Good, relevant under-graduate degree
- CFA holder &/or master's degree in finance from reputable university is strongly preferred
