Munich Re Singapore Life & Health is one of the fastest growing business units for Life & Health reinsurance and the number of new reinsurance treaties has been increasing significantly. We are looking for a Senior Treaty Consultant to support the business unit in managing the treaty wording work.


The Senior Treaty Consultant is responsible for drafting treaty documents and coordinating treaty issues with client management, pricing and underwriting/claims teams of Life Health SEA. Furthermore, the Senior Treaty Consultant ensures compliance with Munich Re's standards, including General Underwriting, Life and Health group-wide Underwriting Guidelines.


Your Role:

• Draft new reinsurance treaties, addenda and other related documents
• Coordinate treaty terms with commercial team (client management, pricing and UW/Claims team) to ensure consistency
• Review feedback from cedants with regard to treaty wording change requests and coordinate response with commercial team, Treaty Legal and other teams as required
• Work with cedants, either directly or through client managers
• Facilitate internal approvals for new treaties and amendments as needed
• Provide oversight to ensure treaty wording process is adhered to
• Keep up to date with all home office and regional guidelines and share these guidelines with the local team
• Track treaty status from treaty drafting until treaty signing and follow-up with client managers on progress
• Prepare KYC (“Know Your Customer”) documents if required by cedants

Your Profile:

• Degree in an Insurance related field, Finance, Business Administration or other similar.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the Life/Health (re)insurance industry.
• Experience in reinsurance treaty wordings.
• Strong technical and analytical skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication and negotiation skills.
