Digital Content Editor- Woolworths Taste

Woolworths TASTE is looking for a creative, experienced content writer and editor to join our award-winning team. Are you a detail-oriented writer who knows their macarons from their macaroons, their bredie from their potjie and their Chenin from their Chardonnay? What the role entails:

Convene and contribute to brainstorms and planning sessions
- Commission and oversee all written (and in some cases photographic and video) contributions from multiple contributors
- Edit raw copy
- Write and produce other digital content
- Ensure the brand’s tone of voice and food authority is maintained across platforms, writers and subject matter
- Work with local and international publishers on cookbook extracts
- Edit and create wine and drinks content for TASTE and WCellar
- Plan, create and commission content for and build the newsletter
- Work with all writers to develop their voices within the TASTE tone
- Stay abreast of client needs and briefs and marry these with TASTE brand values and digital best practice.
- Work with the social media manager to ensure content lands on all platforms
- Keep up to date with digital trends, tools and advances
- Keep up to date with food, wine and media trends
- Attend events where required as a representative of TASTE and Woolworths
- 3-5 years’ experience working in the publishing space as a writer or editor
- Strong food and wine knowledge
- At least 2 years’ experience working in online media
- Examples of published work that you are able to share with us
- Knowledge of SEO
- Experience with newsletters and bulk mailing will be advantageous Strong interpersonal skills, and ability to work in a team
