Job Description
AECOM South Africa is looking for a Candidate Technologist to contribute to the delivery of diverse local and international bridge projects.
Job Summary:

• Design and planning of new bridges, culverts, and other road and rail structures in accordance with TMH7 and other relevant codes.
• 2D drawing production in Autodesk or Bentley software
• 3D modelling of bridges and culverts based on Civil 3D geometric road models
• Preparation and management of construction drawings for bridges, culverts and other road related structures
• Preparation and management of reinforcement detailing and bending schedules
• Preparation and management of project specifications and bills of quantities
• Assist with the inspection of bridges and culverts in accordance with TMH19
• Applying the AECOM Quality Management System (QMS) in all work.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:

• Zero to four years’ experience (including appropriate site experience)
• Experience in the design and or drawing production of bridges and other civil structures will be a benefit
• Experience in the inspection of bridges and culverts will be a benefit;
• Knowledge of international bridge regulations and standards bridge design codes (AASHTO, AREMA, etc.) will be a benefit
• Knowledge of the SANRAL and Western Cape Government drawing procedures will be a benefit
• Proficiency in Auto CAD, Civil3D, Micro Station, Revit, Sofistik Bridge Modeler, Open Roads Open Bridge, or CADS RC will be a benefit
• Experience in structural steel detailing and or reinforcement detailing will be a benefit

Personal Attributes:

• Ability to plan and execute work independently
• Dedicated to deliver correct and accurate work
• Good communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• BTech in Civil Engineering
