Job Advert Summary
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Audiologist to join our dynamic team at Spec Savers South Africa in Plettenberg Bay. The ideal candidate will have a deep passion for providing outstanding hearing care and tailored solutions to meet the unique needs of our diverse patient community.
In this position, you will conduct thorough audiological evaluations, diagnose hearing conditions, and develop effective treatment plans, including hearing aid fittings and patient counseling. You will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive, patient-centered care.
Minimum Requirements
- A degree in Audiology from an accredited institution.
- Current registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA).
- Strong knowledge of hearing assessments, audiometry, and hearing aids.
- Familiarity with the latest audiological equipment, techniques, and technologies.
- Experience in diagnosing and managing a variety of hearing and balance disorders.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and team members.
- Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care, ensuring a positive experience for all patients.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills to manage a diverse caseload.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with advancements in audiology.
- Proficiency in maintaining accurate patient records and adhering to confidentiality and compliance standards.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Conducting hearing assessments and diagnosing hearing-related issues.
- Providing hearing aid fittings, adjustments, and maintenance.
- Offering rehabilitation services and recommendations for patients with hearing impairments.
- Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive patient care plans.
- Maintaining accurate patient records and ensuring confidentiality.
- Educating patients and their families about hearing health and treatment options.
- Performing auditory processing evaluations and designing personalized management strategies.
- Identifying and managing balance disorders related to vestibular dysfunction.
- Staying updated on advancements in audiology to offer cutting-edge solutions to patients.
- Offering support and counseling to patients adjusting to hearing loss or hearing aids.
- Assisting in the development and implementation of preventive hearing health programs.
- Managing hearing aid inventory and ensuring the availability of necessary devices and accessories.
