Senior Mechanical Engineer

Requirements

• A relevant Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Proven relevant experience at an appropriate level
• Registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa

(ECSA) as a Professional Mechanical Engineer

• PC literacy
• A valid driver’s licence

Key Performance Areas

• Manages the Mechanical Ventilation and Noise Control Unit by

complying with the National Building Regulations (Parts O and

T (artificial ventilation as well as fire smoke Ventilation), and the

Building Standards Act

• Manages the processing of noise impact assessments, noise

exemption applications and the investigation of diverse

complaints by adhering to the Noise Control Regulations and

the relevant SANS Codes.

• Manages the enforcement of the Noise Control Regulations and

routine inspections and monitoring by giving effect to legal

requirements of the Noise Control Regulations and the relevant

SANS Codes

• Undergoes skills training by maintaining, facilitating and

improving capacity

• Initiates and coordinates community involvement within Sub-

Districts by liaising with the community regarding noise pollution

matters.
