Job Description:
We are seeking a talented Yacht Design Engineer to join our team at Du Toit Yacht Design. As a Yacht Design Engineer, your responsibilities would include designing and analysing the mechanical systems and structural components of yachts, ensuring their safety, durability, and performance at sea. This includes hull design, propulsion systems, rigging, material s selection, structural analysis, CAD modeling, and prototyping.
Responsibilities:

• Designing and of vessel mechanical systems and structural components
• Creating accurate and detailed 2D working drawings.
• Developing 3D models in accordance with company standards.
• Collaborating with marine production facilities and boat owners to meet project goals.

Basic Requirements and Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, you should meet the following criteria:

• Possess a degree or diploma in Mechanical or Structural Engineering.
• Have 2+ years of working experience in a design office.
• Proficiency in 2D CAD drawing using Auto CAD or equivalent software.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling and drafting using CATIA, Rhino, Solid Works, or equivalent software.
• Demonstrate meticulous attention to detail.
• Exhibit the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Thrive in a fast-paced environment and work effectively under pressure.
• Showcase excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Be a team player and able to mentor less experienced team members.

Additional Beneficial Skills and Experience:
While not required, the following skills and experience would be advantageous:

• Sailing or boating experience.
• Marine or yacht design experience

Remuneration:
The salary for this position is negotiable and will be commensurate with your experience and qualifications.
