Business Intelligence - Data Engineer

We are looking for a Business Intelligence - Data Engineer to join our Life Sciences and Healthcare Consulting Services Team in Barcelona (Spain ) – Hybrid . This is an amazing opportunity to work on building and optimizing data solutions across multiple domains, including business intelligence, data integration, and governance. We have a strong focus on innovation and efficiency, and we would love to speak with you if you have expertise in data engineering, ETL processes, and business intelligence tools.

About You – experience, education, skills, and accomplishments

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Engineering, IT, or a related field with a strong quantitative and analytical focus.
At least 3 years of relevant work experience in data engineering or business intelligence.
Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases like My SQL, Postgre SQL.
2+ years of experience with Python.
2+ years of experience with BI and analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker).
Experience with ETL technologies (e.g., dbt, Apache Ni Fi, Talend) and data pipeline management tools (e.g., Airflow, Dagster).
Fluency in English, both written and spoken (C1).

It would be great if you also had . . .

Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
Familiarity with big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark).
Understanding of data governance and data security best practices.
Experience working with global teams.

What will you be doing in this role?

Design, develop, and maintain ETL processes to integrate data from various sources.
Build and optimize data pipelines and architectures to support business intelligence and analytics.
Develop and maintain data warehouse solutions.
Implement and manage data governance and data quality processes.
Create and maintain documentation for data processes, architecture, and workflows.
Visualize data insights (dashboards) and communicate findings to teams across the organization.
Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues to ensure data integrity and availability.

Collaborate with stakeholders including Executive, Product, Data, and Design teams to resolve data-related technical issues and support data infrastructure needs.
Manage and expand the current Business Intelligence platform on the Consulting Operations team, primarily based on Power BI.

Projects you will be working on
You will be part of various data-driven projects such as data integration, business intelligence dashboards, process optimization, and data governance. The team works on transforming data into valuable insights for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and data integrity.
About the Team
You will be joining a talented and diverse global team within the Consulting Operations group. Our team is dedicated to enhancing data management and optimizing data processes to ensure high-quality business intelligence solutions. You will collaborate with professionals across multiple regions to deliver impactful data-driven solutions.
Hours of Work
This is a permanent full-time position at 40 hours per week. The working schedule is flexible, primarily centered on CET time zone with occasional need to accommodate meetings with US or East Asia time zones. The position is hybrid with office visits required 2-3 times per week.
