Immigration Counsel (Spain)

We have a vacancy for an Immigration Counsel and are seeking applications from suitably qualified and motivated applicants to join our Global Immigration Team.
The Immigration Counsel will be responsible for providing expert legal guidance and support on immigration matters within your licensed jurisdiction and across various international locations. Your role will involve advising clients on complex immigration issues, ensuring compliance with local and international immigration laws, and managing immigration processes for employees and businesses operating globally. This role involves consulting with clients, preparing and filing immigration petitions, and offering strategic advice on immigration matters. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of global immigration processes and policies, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to handle complex cases with professionalism and accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert legal advice on immigration laws and regulations applicable in your jurisdiction as well as international laws affecting global mobility.
- Advise corporate clients and individual clients on visa and immigration options, processes, and requirements.
- Interpret and apply immigration policies, procedures, and regulations in accordance with local and international laws.
- Conduct detailed consultations with clients to understand their immigration needs and provide tailored advice.
- Manage a portfolio of immigration cases, ensuring accurate and timely submission of immigration filings and handle any requests for additional evidence or information from immigration authorities.
- Maintain regular communication with clients, providing updates and addressing any concerns throughout the process.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing expert advice and support.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing excellent customer service and timely responses to inquiries.
- Conduct regular client meetings to review case progress, address concerns, and provide updates.
- Prepare, review, and submit all necessary immigration documentation, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date case files, both electronically and in hard copy.
- Assist clients in gathering and preparing required documents and evidence.
- Prepare detailed reports and updates on immigration cases for clients and internal stakeholders.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including legal and administrative staff, to ensure smooth processing of cases.
- Coordinate with external stakeholders, such as government agencies and other third parties, to facilitate immigration processes.
- Provide guidance and support to junior team members and administrative staff.
- Stay updated on changes to global immigration policies and procedures and communicate these updates to clients and internal teams.
- Ensure all activities comply with relevant immigration laws and regulations.
- Assist in conducting regular audits of case files to identify and mitigate compliance risks.
- Participate in professional development and training activities to maintain and enhance knowledge of immigration laws and practices.
- Share knowledge and best practices with colleagues and team members.
- Stay current with industry trends, legal updates, and best practices in immigration law.
- Prepare regular reports on case status and progress for internal and client review.
- Communicate effectively with clients and internal teams to provide updates and address any issues that arise.
· Licensed to practice law within a specific jurisdiction. (required)
· Proven years of experience in immigration consulting or a related field.
· Strong knowledge of global immigration laws and regulations.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Customer-focused attitude with a commitment to providing high-quality service.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook).
· Experience with case management software and immigration application systems. (preferred)
· Bilingual or multilingual skills. (preferred)
Working Conditions
· Typical hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional overtime required during peak periods.
· This position requires prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, working on a computer, and engaging in frequent communication.
· Ability to work flexible hours to accommodate clients in different time zones and urgent cases.
