Our European Power Programme has an exciting opportunity for a Programme Assistant to join the team and provide cross-cutting support to all its activities. In particular, the Programme Assistant would help with organising both public and closed-door events, leading the programme’s communications, and supporting its advocacy efforts, among other tasks.
If you have relevant experience in these areas, are proactive, creative and have a high degree of self-initiative, and are interested in working in a European foreign policy think tank, this position is for you.

Main Responsibilities
- Supporting the organisation and management of meetings and events, both virtual and in person, in collaboration with the Programme Manager.
- Drafting background notes, presentations, and other written material in support of programme activities, including relevant translations.
- Supporting the Programme activities with data visualisations and graphics as needed.
- Managing the Programme’s social media accounts, presence on the ECFR website, and relationships with the media.
- Capturing the impact of Programme activities and helping prepare donor and internal reports.
- Assisting in stakeholder mapping and updating our internal systems and database.
- Liaising and coordinating with relevant actors on behalf of the European Power programme both internally and externally.
- Supporting the European Power Programme in various administrative tasks as needed.
Person Specification
- Relevant Degree in the field of Political Science, Journalism, International or EU Affairs, Public Policy or equivalent.
- Two years of relevant work experience (including internships), particularly in organising public events and managing social media accounts.
- Good knowledge and understanding of administrative matters and work organisation.
- Advanced MS-Office and IT skills, including the use of databases (CRM) and social media platforms. Knowledge of Canva and Word Press is an advantage.
- Excellent written and oral communication in English, good knowledge of another European language is an advantage.
- Proven interest in one or more of the European Power Programme’s focus areas: climate and energy; technology and geopolitics; the multilateral system; defence and security; and public opinion polling.
- Desirable experience in an international high-pace environment.

- Ability to work independently, in addition to as part of a multinational team.
- Social competence with the ability to comfortably interact with people at all levels.
- Proactive and with a can-do attitude, curiosity, and willingness to learn.
- Organisation skills with a good eye for detail.
- High degree of ownership.
- Willingness and ability to occasionally travel and to work some irregular hours.
