The Institute

The Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG) is an international biomedical research institute of excellence, based in Barcelona, Spain, with more than 400 scientists from 44 countries. The CRG is composed by an interdisciplinary, motivated and creative scientific team which is supported both by a flexible and efficient administration and by high-end and innovative technologies.

In April 2021, the Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG) received the renewal of the 'HR Excellence in Research' Award from the European Commission. The role

You will be responsible for chromatin extraction and sample preparation for either proteomic or western blot analysis. You will perform cloning, cell culture, q PCR, Ch IPseq, sample preparation for gene expression analysis, immunofluorescence. You will work on several projects at the same time, helping the project leaders to carry out the experiments necessary for the progress of their projects.

About the lab

Our laboratory specializes in high-throughput image analysis, subcellular proteomics, transcriptomics, genetic screening, bioinformatics and cell and molecular biology techniques. We are a group of about 10 people from different cultures and countries. We are part of the genome biology department at the CRG, and we aim to understand why metabolic enzymes localize to the nuclear environment and participate in specific chromatin functions.

Whom would we like to hire?

Professional experience

Must Have

You have more than 5 years of experience as research technician

You have proven experience in cell culture, cloning, western blot, q PCR

You have experience in chromatin proteomics

You have experience in immunofluorescence

Desirable but not required/ Nice to have

You have experience with customizable image analysis pipelines

You have knowledge of cancer biology, in particular breast cancer

Education and training

You have a Certificate of Higher Education as a research technician or bachelor's/master's degree in biological sciences or a related field

Languages

You are proficient in English

Competences

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Ability to perform tasks with minimal supervision

Have the drive and commitment to produce high quality experimental results

Strong organizational skills

Ability to work as part of a team

Collegiality

Punctuality in delivering results

The Offer – Working Conditions

Contract duration: technical and scientific activities estimated 1 year

Estimated annual gross salary: Salary is commensurate with qualifications and consistent with our pay scales

Target start date: 15th of November (2024)
