QIMA Monasterium is based in Münster, Germany, and specializes in pre-clinical and clinical services in dermatology for therapeutics, cosmeceutical, and nutraceutical applications, offering among other clinically relevant ex vivo and in vivo pre-clinical models and state-of-the-art techniques.
We are seeking a team-orientated and highly motivated Research Technician (m/f/d) part time or full time to join our team in the affiliated Laboratory at Mediteknia, Spain (Av. Alcalde Ramírez Bethencourt, 20, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Canary Islands, Spain)

Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
The main responsibility of this position is to provide technical support to complete projects undertaken in the lab under the supervision of the Study Manager or Lab Manager in charge.
As example:
- Isolation and organ culture of hair follicle, skin and/or annexes for different projects
- Fixation and embedding of tissue
- Cryo and paraffin sections
- Performing various immunohistochemical and immunofluorescence stains
- Use of immunofluorescence and light microscopy
- Taking images and performing image analysis, using various programs (e.g. BZ-Analyzer, BZ viewer and Image J)
- General organization of the lab including forward planning and logistics regarding samples, equipment and materials required, that is organizing shipments from and to the laboratory, and also overseeing and maintaining stock of media, chemical and other consumables.
- Participating in scientific lab meetings
Qualifications
In order to succeed in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
- Completed training as a Medical / Biological-technical assistant or an honors bachelor degree in a relevant subject or an advanced student in a related field.
- Experience in biological research laboratories and with laboratory techniques
- Good knowledge of Computer Skills and Microsoft Office
- Sound knowledge of English (Company language: English) (language in the lab: Spanish)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
- Good coordination, time management, data collection and analysis
- Flexibility
- Candidates with documented know-how and experience in immunohistochemistry and routine histology will be preferred
- Candidates with documented know-how and experience in skin and/or hair research will be preferred
