For our Engineering department at the Tarragona site, we are looking for a
Senior Mechanical Engineer (m/f/d). Our Engineering department plans and constructs complex chemical plants for Clariant in Spain and abroad.


Responsibilities

• In Clariant's global investment projects, you will work independently and coordinate the design and procurement of machines and equipment such as vessels, columns, reactors, heat exchangers, filters, pumps, etc.

• You will create inquiry and order specifications in collaboration with other engineering disciplines and procurement, taking into account internal and external guidelines, standards and codes

• You will clarify open technical issues with suppliers and create technical bid comparisons

• You will manage the expediting of the manufacturing and delivery process by reviewing and approving the detailed design documents and drawings from suppliers
• You will carry out manufacturing supervision including technical quality inspection as well as acceptance tests (FAT/SAT) of the equipment to ensure cost, quality and schedule compliance

• You will support installation and commissioning activities at the site

Requirements

• You have a university degree (Bachelor's or Master's) in engineering, ideally in mechanical engineering or a comparable discipline

• You have at least 5 years of professional experience in plant engineering with a focus on static equipment in the chemical industry

• You have sound knowledge of relevant standards and codes (DIN/EN, PED, ASME, ...)

• You are proficient in using common IT programs (MS Office, SAP)

• You are a motivating and cooperative team player who is also willing to make decisions and take responsibility

• With your intercultural competence, you can easily communicate successfully with international counterparts
• You can demonstrate excellent communication skills fluently in English and if possible in German

• International travel is not a problem for you
