The Barcelona Supercomputing Center - Centro Nacional de Supercomputación (BSC-CNS) is the leading supercomputing center in Spain. It houses Mare Nostrum, one of the most powerful supercomputers in Europe, was a founding and hosting member of the former European HPC infrastructure PRACE (Partnership for Advanced Computing in Europe), and is now hosting entity for Euro HPC JU, the Joint Undertaking that leads large-scale investments and HPC provision in Europe. The mission of BSC is to research, develop and manage information technologies in order to facilitate scientific progress. BSC combines HPC service provision and R&D into both computer and computational science (life, earth and engineering sciences) under one roof, and currently has over 1000 staff from 60 countries.

The Earth Sciences department is looking for a web developer with background on user-centered design to work in the Computational Earth Sciences and the Earth System Services groups. We are looking for a candidate with excellent technical skills and an interest in design and usability to produce high-quality products and high impact services related to the dissemination activities of the Earth Sciences Department (www.bsc.es/ess). The selected candidate will be in charge of gathering technical and usability requirements, interacting with design and visualization teams and user testing. The candidate will also participate in the improvement and maintenance of online operational services (e.g., CALIOPE, SDS-WAS or www.seasonalhurricanepredictions.org) from a technical point of view but also implementing enhancements from the user perspective.
