At the Swedish Space Corporation, our goal is to enable our customers to make better use of space. The Science Services Division develops rocket and balloon systems to support experimental equipment for microgravity research and development and sustain capabilities required to operate one of Europe’s cutting edge space ports.
YOUR ROLE
We offer the opportunity to join the Science Services Rocket and Balloon division which is entrusted to develop and maintain critical systems required to launch global balloon operations, sounding rockets and orbital rockets from our facilities at Esrange. As an RF Engineer in the Instrumentation department your role will be to oversee the development and sustainability of a wide range of systems within our telemetry station and local installations. Strong background in RF design, analysis and testing to optimize RF systems and sub-systems is required. You will participate in development projects and support customer campaigns operations from our telemetry station along with supporting daily line work on our installed systems throughout Esrange.
Examples of work tasks:

• Gather and analyze design requirements to optimize RF systems. This includes requests for internal and external development projects and navigating such solutions that will support the affected stakeholders.

• Provide system coordination and report on customer requirements to enable technical implementations that are needed to be delivered on time and on budget

• Conduct testing and validation procedures of RF units for established and new systems.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate RF solutions.

• Support launch operations in conjunction with Esrange and mobile TM stations.

• Prepare technical documentation including specifications and operational documentation.

WHO YOU ARE
If you have an RF background and are interested in supporting the operational sustainability of a space port, we want to hear from you! We address basic and complex technical challenges on a daily basis and collaborate in an international environment. Having experience with network hardware integration, network programming and programming languages is highly sought after.
We also believe you have:

• Master’s or Ph D degree in a technical field or have corresponding experience.

• Background in Telemetry, Telecommunications, Science or Space Technology and a general interest in supporting space port operations.

• You are comfortable communicating in Swedish and English, both written and spoken.

• This role requires a valid driver’s license and access to a car.

LOCATION
This is a permanent full-time position located at Esrange Space Center, Kiruna. As part of our team, you will participate in rocket and balloon campaigns that can be scheduled outside of regular business hours. Occasional requirements to work campaigns with our international partners outside of Sweden will be required.
