The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is a key player in medical care and biomedical research both at national and international levels. The mission of the Clinical Data Science Group (CDS), part of the newly established Biomedical Data Science Center, is to develop and apply innovative data-driven solutions based on artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques for better healthcare services delivery, management, and research.
Working with us, you’ll join a dynamic team of research scientists, data scientists, and engineers working in close collaboration with expert clinicians; and you will be part of major national and international collaborations, tackling important challenges at the intersection of multimodal data science, semantic-driven knowledge representation, privacy-preserving data sharing, and personalized health.

Mission

• You will actively contribute to the technical design and implementation of innovative applications for medical research and clinical decision support based on AI; this includes implementation of web applications for clinicians and data scientists (back + front), and extension of existing open-source health informatics software
• You will deploy and maintain the said applications in the CHUV information system (and other partnering sites if applicable)
• You will support data scientists in the development of their projects
• You will help administer, maintain, and develop the compute infrastructure of the team to make sure all projects can be delivered successfully
• You will participate in code reviews and peer learning.

Profil

• Master’s degree (with industry internship experience) or Bachelor’s degree with 2y working experience in computer science, software engineering or an associated field
• Experience with Angular, React, Vue.js or other front-end frameworks
• Experience with Python, Javascript, Go or another OOP back-end programming language
• Experience in production environments: Documentation/Specification, Unit tests, Deployment, Code optimization, Code versioning
• Proficiency with container-based deployments: Docker, Kubernetes, etc.
• Familiarity with Linux/Unix-like environments
• You like to work in multidisciplinary environments
• You value process, standards, communication and code quality
• You want to help build never-before-seen technologies
• You are fluent in English (knowledge of French would be a plus)
• Nice to haves:
• Experience in medical industry, including writing software requirements, verification testing and applicable standards
• Experience in cyber security and applicable standards
• Familiarity with Machine Learning/Deep Learning frameworks and MLOps.
