The International Olympic Committee (IOC) is the guardian of the Olympic Games and the leader of the Olympic Movement. A truly global organisation, it acts as a catalyst for collaboration between all Olympic stakeholders, including the athletes, the National Olympic Committees (NOCs), the International Sports Federations (IFs), Organising Committees for the Olympic Games (OCOGs), the Worldwide Olympic Partners and Media Rights-Holders. It also works with public and private authorities, including the United Nations and other international organisations.

If you are experienced in managing large-scale athlete villages for multi-sport events like the Olympic Games, and the vision to build a better world through sports inspires you, this is a unique opportunity to contribute to the Olympic Movement within the IOC. As an Olympic Village Manager, your mission will be to orchestrate every aspect of the Olympic and Youth Olympic Villages, ensuring an exceptional experience for National Olympic Committees and their delegations during the Games. You'll guide Organizing Committees through village development, spearhead key initiatives, and drive projects that elevate stakeholder experiences, contributing directly to the success of the Olympic and Youth Olympic Games.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead comprehensive project management strategic and operational activities for Olympic Village development, ensuring timely delivery and stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Serve as the main IOC contact for Organizing Committees (OC) on all Village-related matters, ensuring clear and consistent communication.
  • Guide OCs through Olympic Village development, providing operational, staffing, and master planning support. Assist in creating sustainable business plans that align with local constraints and IOC standards.
  • Develop and deliver briefings and training sessions for Organizing Committee members on expected service levels and operational standards.
  • Monitor the progress of the Village development project, proactively identifying potential risks and implementing robust mitigation strategies to ensure timely and successful delivery.
  • Facilitate collaboration between internal IOC departments, and external partners (e.g., Organising Committee Functional Areas, Marketing Partners, International Federations, etc.) to develop strategic operational plans and deliver defined initiatives and services within the Village.
  • Facilitate the transfer of knowledge from previous Games for future Games, including best practices and standards, to inform the development and management of the Village.
  • Collaborate with the IOC NOC Relations NOC Services manager to oversee the planning of key OLV services to ensure a seamless experience for athletes and team officials.
  • When required Represent the IOC at Coordination Commission and Delivery Partner meetings, as well as other reviews with the OC.
  • Oversee the IOC NOC Uniform Support Programme, NOC Uniform Compliance, Olympic Village Data Capture, Athletes' Survey, IOC Village Guest Passes and Place of Mourning.
  • Supervise and support their direct report by setting clear objectives, providing regular feedback, and fostering a collaborative environment to ensure individual and team growth.
Eligibility criteria:
  • Bachelor's degree in Sports management, event management or any equivalent education.
  • Excellent oral and written communication in English and French.
  • Proven experience in project management, preferably in a complex organizational setting and in the sports and/or events management industry.
  • Experience in leadership positions and managing a team.
  • Good knowledge of the Olympic Games and multi-sporting events experience.
  • Flexibility to travel.
  • Flexibility in working hours.
  • Good command of Microsoft tools: Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point, Smartsheet.
