As an Operations Specialist for the MENA Region where we operate with Destination Management companies (Africa, Middle East, and some European destinations) your responsibility will be providing cost-effective and qualitative services and solutions for activities, accommodation, transport, and meals - all while keeping our customer’s experience at the forefront. You’ll do this by managing relationships with suppliers, reconfirming bookings and EF’s quality standards, coming up with cost-efficient itinerary solutions and contributing to your portfolio development.

Core responsibilities

Market expertise: market knowledge and expertise through constant networking and research, competition awareness, and industry insights

Supplier relationship management: maintain a positive and constructive relationship with existing and potential DMCs in the EMEA region

Budget & Cost control: Devise, monitor, and adhere to budgets

Product Development: actively partner with our Product Development Team by identifying market opportunities, contributing to overarching product strategy, and maintaining & improving current portfolio

Safety & Quality Control: Ensure suppliers fulfill all safety/compliance and quality criteria targets are met

Administrative: Ensure all allocations, invoices, and supplier updates are managed and that all safety and cost guidelines are adhered to

Processes and documentation: create and keep updated all relevant documentation

Negotiation skills: You’re able to leverage your network and use the tools at your disposal to strike a deal and execute on your overall strategy.

Strategic: You’re forward-thinking, analytical, and responsible. You’re cost-conscious, efficient, and

capable of executing the vision of multiple products.

Effective verbal, written & cross-cultural communication skills: You should be able to adapt communication style to suit different audiences/markets. You’re comfortable working in the details, particularly with numbers and legal jargon.

Execution: You’re organized, you plan ahead, and you manage your time to stay on-track

Willingness to travel: You’re prepared to spend time on the road learning your market and cultivating relationships.

Language skills: Full fluency in English. Other Languages are a plus.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

1-3 years’ experience in travel, tourism, educational travel, or online travel agency industry is preferred

Strong interest in the tourism industry

Passion for travel

Comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
