Your mission
As an online journalist (60%) in our specialised subject area of pharma and health, you will be working on the following tasks:- You will write in-depth articles for an international audience about topics surrounding pharma and health within the context of current global challenges, bringing in Swiss perspectives
- You will interview experts in the field, conduct in-depth research, check and monitor information on related topics
- You will follow relevant developments in the field across the globe and maintain personal contacts with international specialists and experts in Switzerland and overseas
- You are able to present complex topics in a way that can be understood by our international community and are familiar with multimedia storytelling formats
- You will actively build an international community, i.e. in the direct and indirect distribution of your own content and that of SWI swissinfo.ch
- You will work closely with other teams to create multimedia content (e.g. videos, infographics, podcasts)
- You will be working in tandem with another beat reporter
Your profile
- You have extensive experience in digital media, have proven journalistic skills and a track record of finding topics, researching sources and preparing content
- You have a deep understanding of the mechanisms within the pharmaceutical and biotech industry, of health systems and current trends in medicine, and are aware of the most pressing journalistic issues and debates in the sector
- You have an international perspective and ideally have a network of international contacts
- You are familiar with SEO and different storytelling formats
- You are a team player and are motivated to work with colleagues from other cultures
- You have outstanding writing skills and a keen eye for language and style. English is ideally your mother tongue and you are fluent in at least one official Swiss language.
- You are highly committed and able to work independently
