JOB PURPOSE
The Plant Engineer (all genders) ensures the technical availability of assigned assets and oversees maintenance and reliability activities, as well as investment planning and execution. Additionally, they ensure regulatory compliance concerning inspections and obligations within their area of responsibility.
YOUR TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensures the operability, reliability, and integrity of the assigned assets
- Manages the maintenance activities related to inspection, repairs, and turn-arounds of the assigned assets; initiates, monitors, and tracks work orders
- Plans, executes, and monitors multiple basic budget (<1 m EUR) projects and / or mid-sized (1-5 m EUR) investment projects; participates in the planning and execution of major investments in her / his area of responsibility
- Identifies and evaluates deficiencies and bottlenecks and develops technical concepts for their resolution in close cooperation with 2nd Plant Manager
- Actively participates in optimization and / or innovation projects / initiatives related to her/his area of responsibility
- Conducts troubleshooting of asset and process problems
- Observes technical rules and regulations and implements technical good practices
- Owner of the technical documentation and coordinates the internal and external service providers for his / her area of responsibility
- Has up-to-date knowlegde of Bayer Group and subgroup best practices and implements them in her / his area of responsibility
- Actively supports knowledge transfer between plant engineers and plant technicians
WHO YOU ARE
- Engineer (all genders) with a degree in a technical discipline (BSc, MSc, or advanced)
- At least 5 years of combined experience in engineering and/or manufacturing
- Competent knowledge of fine chemicals production processes
- Proven track record in project and/or maintenance roles within the chemical industry
- Strong technical and general economic competencies
- Good communication skills, able to lead a team in a project-related environment
- Good interdisciplinary knowledge of engineering processes and tools
- Very good English and German skills
