We are currently looking for a scientist with a strong technical background and hands-on experience in biochemical analytical methods to join our Biologics Analytical Department located in Lucerne/Schachen, Switzerland.

Being part of a multidisciplinary team and support the development of novel biopharmaceuticals. As an active member of our global bioanalytical development team, you will work with your counterparts at our US research sites to apply state-of-the-art technology to support biotechnology process development.

The Biologics Analytical Department provides support to the manufacturing sites of the company by performing release and stability testing of clinical batches and acting as the interface between method development and validation. We are establishing and validating methods for testing of biologics drug substances and drug products adhering to regulatory Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) requirements. Furthermore, the department conducts raw-/starting material and in-process testing for biological drug substances. The position offers development potential; responsibilities can be adjusted to the candidate’s qualifications and ambitions.

Responsibilities:

• Establishing and running chromatography methods for release & stability testing of Biologics.
  
• Performing laboratory work according to current Good Manufacturing Practices (c GMPs) and apply good documentation practices.
  
• Performing method validations and transfers to other laboratories and Contract Research Organization (CROs).
  
• Improvement of methods and troubleshooting around equipment and procedures.
  
• Representing the area as subject matter expert (SME) in global development teams.
  
• Train analysts from other sites for executing new test methods.
  
• Write technical protocols, reports, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), etc.
  
• Supporting the local and global department strategies and initiatives.
  

Your Profile:

• An apprenticeship as Laboratory Technician Eidgenössisches Fachzeugnis (EFZ) in a relevant field with at least three years of industry experience, or
  
• Bachelor’s degree/ in Biochemistry/Chemistry/Pharmaceutics/Biological Sciences or similar field with a least three years of industry experience, or
  
• Master’s degree in Biochemistry/Chemistry/Pharmaceutics/Biological Sciences or similar field.
  
• Deep knowledge of protein biochemistry and hands on experience with analytical testing by High-Pressure Liquid Chromatography and Ultra Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC/UPLC) methods, e.g. Size Exclusion, Ion Exchange, Reverse Phase, Hydrophobic interaction chromatography (HIC).
  
• Detailed knowledge of relevant Chromatography data system (CDS), (Empower).
  
• Precise pipetting of small volumes and preparing large number of sample dilutions.
  
• Analytical method validation and GMP working experience is preferred.
  
• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize.
  
• Strong oral and written communication skills in English and German.
  
• Strong team player, demonstrating mutual respect.

Additionally, our site investigates suspected cases of drug counterfeiting, operating as one of only three such laboratories worldwide.
