About the role
As a Senior Software Engineer at Sygnum, you bring extensive experience with large-scale backend technologies, including databases, complex applications, and integrations with messaging or pub-sub systems. You have a strong grasp of scaling technologies like Kubernetes, but you're now seeking a new, more exciting challenge. At Sygnum, you’ll work on a cutting-edge Java Script-based backend stack, helping to build the future of finance. You’ll join a dynamic team at the forefront of technology, tackling challenges that go beyond what you can find on Stack Overflow.
- Develop scalable backend services using our tech stack, which includes Java Script/Type Script (Nest JS) running on AWS
- Design and implement scalable backend microservices that integrate seamlessly with a diverse array of products (e.g., Core Banking) and interfaces (REST, LDAP, Web3, HSMs, Kafka, etc.)
- Take ownership of our component libraries and application code, ensuring high-quality and reliable solutions
- Collaborate with architects to deliver robust, secure, and scalable systems
- Blend creativity with a strong focus on security to support the development of innovative prototypes for new components and products
What we expect
- Fluency in Programming Languages: Strong proficiency in Java Script and Type Script is essential. Experience with Java is a plus
- Backend Technologies: Expertise in backend technologies, including databases, Kafka, Node.js, and protocols such as OAuth
- Web Technologies: A good understanding of web technologies, including HTML, CSS, React, and state management libraries, is beneficial
- API Design: Experience in designing flexible and robust REST APIs, with a focus on an API-first approach
- Backend Engineering Experience: Proven experience as a Backend Engineer in complex setups, with a solid understanding of microservices and event-driven architecture
- Implementation Skills: Ability to implement complex functionality in Type Script, particularly with frameworks like Nest JS
- Development Lifecycle: A deep understanding of the development lifecycle, including tools and practices such as Git, CI/CD, testing, and vulnerability management
- Web3/Blockchain Knowledge: Familiarity with web3 or blockchain technologies is a plus
- Third-Party Integration: Experience integrating third-party services (e.g., Pay Pal, Xero) is an advantage
