Your role and responsibilities

For our traction and mobile e-power business in Turgi, Switzerland, we are looking for a committed and passionate leader (m/f/d) to lead a very experience team of about 12 lead engineers within the local traction engineering. In this challenging role, you will manage a highly motivated team of lead engineers. Your team has the full technical responsibility for the successful engineering of rolling stock propulsion systems, supported by control, power, mechanical and test engineering teams. In close collaboration with product and project management you and your team drive and deliver customer projects. Do you have the necessary skills and drive for executing projects at a high level, the ambition to lead a strong and highly motivated engineering team as well as a keen interest in international collaboration? The work model for the role is: #LI-Hybrid You will be mainly accountable for: • Leading the team in technical and non-technical aspects • Coaching and supporting the team members to utilize their full potential concerning processes, tools, and templates • Ensuring adequate staffing and introduction of new members to the team • Securing continuous improvement of the engineering process • Establishing and maintaining close collaboration with other engineering teams (locally and globally), product management, project management and other relevant functions • Acting as the global engineering process owner and ensuring the uniform application in all engineering teams • Leading your own project(s) as a technical project manager

Qualifications for the role

Bachelor, Master or Ph D in electrical, software or mechanical engineering
At least 8 years work experience in a technical customer focused area, ideally in the field of railway, ebus or heavy electric vehicle propulsion
At least 3 years leadership experience
Proven technical project management experience
Strong level of self-motivation and structured approach to work
Leader and team player with excellent communication skills, both in English and German
