Soft In Way’s Switzerland office is seeking a Technical Project Manager for the development of Turbomachinery applications.

Responsibilities: 30% technical and 70% management

• Own all aspects of engineering project execution, covering managerial, technical, and leadership steps. Take responsibility for manpower, budget, schedule, and technical accuracy.
• Work with the sales team to interface with customers, define and document design requirements, establish the overall project schedule, address technical concerns, and provide project status updates.
• Ensure compliance with all contract requirements and deliverables by collaborating with cross-functional teams and customers in Engineering Services, enabling timely project development and successful deliveries for our customers.
• Lead and coordinate engineering meetings with cross-functional teams, reviewing design progress and engineering analysis to ensure projects meet all design requirements and technical specifications.
• Interface with customers and keep the team and management informed of project progress.
• Learn and apply Soft In Way’s design tools in the project development process.
• Collaborate with Soft In Way’s software development team to improve and enhance turbomachinery design tools from system, subsystem, component levels, and material points of view.
• Demonstrate basic knowledge/familiarity of mechanical design, including material properties, statics, strength of materials, fluid dynamics, lifing methods related to Low and High Cycle Fatigue (LCF & HCF), and creep.
• Have a general understanding of applying Finite Element Analysis and/or Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) capabilities in turbomachinery development.
• Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, and be capable of making technical and project-related presentations internally and to customers.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent knowledge and experience, Master’s degree preferred.
• 10 years of experience in product development, coupled with strong project management/leadership skills.
• Turbomachinery experience in flowpath aerodynamics/thermodynamics is strongly preferred, but we would also consider candidates with experience in other industries utilizing R&D and Mechanical Engineering Services.
• Attention to detail and a strong focus on maintaining and improving the design process.
• Proven track record of managing and leading engineering staff.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English language (German is a plus) and problem-solving skills.
• Proven ability to drive change, manage conflict, and achieve results.
