Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Test Automation Consultant to join our team in Basel, Switzerland. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in test automation, excellent analytical skills, and a deep understanding of quality assurance processes and tools. The role involves designing, implementing, and managing automated testing frameworks and strategies for complex systems, ensuring seamless functionality, and maintaining high-quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement test automation strategies for both frontend and backend applications.
- Design, create, and maintain reusable and reliable automation scripts.
- Integrate automated testing into the continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipeline.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (developers, product managers, QA analysts) to ensure comprehensive test coverage.
- Identify and document test cases, define automation frameworks, and select appropriate tools and techniques.
- Execute automated test cases, analyze test results, and report defects accurately.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to the QA team on automation best practices.
- Continuously improve the quality assurance processes and automation tools.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in test automation, with expertise in creating and maintaining automation frameworks.
- Proficiency in automation tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Test NG, or similar.
- Strong experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Git Lab, or Azure Dev Ops.
- Solid knowledge of programming languages such as Java, Python, or Java Script.
- Experience with API testing using tools like Postman, REST Assured, or similar.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and analytical mindset.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with fluency in English; German or French is an advantage.
- Experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry is beneficial but not mandatory.
- Knowledge of BDD/TDD frameworks (e.g., Cucumber, Spec Flow) is a plus.
- ISTQB certification or equivalent is preferred.
