Objectives of the Position
You will:

• Responsible of site EHS related activities in Kaohsiung site complying with regulation and BASF requirements
• Collaborate efficiently with site management team to run the site safe, complying with laws and fulfil the concept of License to Operate
• Be a responsible care code leader for code 3, 4, 7, 8 and 9

Main Tasks
Role & Responsibility (R&R)

• Collaborate with site management to set a EHS target that fulfils BASF EHS targets and regularly monitor KPI Target trend and report to site manager, country EHS and regional EHS platform
• Deliver effective and efficient services to site growth

1) understand local needs through dialogue (ex: site EHS committee, MOC meeting);
2) Provide EHS services, supports, consultations and solutions to site (ex: Incident investigation, Risk Assessment).

• Harmonize EHS performance and EHS standards in site. Collaborate with country EHS head and OD regional EHS head to work efficiently and effectively for the implementation of EHS requirements
• Lead site for the continuous improvement on EHS performance, EHS awareness through effective collaboration with each department
• In MOC evaluation meeting, establish necessary BASF requirements and regulation requirements in any CAPEX/OPEX Projects
• Provide training to site employees on EHS topics and alignment with country and Greater China EHS Platform and to conduct the training for the targeted persons in the site
• Sharing regularly of incident information, best practices of other BASF Sites and effectively collaborate with departments in case of any implementation and incident preventive activities
• Competence in identifying EHS related threats and opportunity and lead the implementation in site
• Build one face to authority and 3rd Party for site related regulation requirement activities
• Regular or random check on EHS implementation on site. Work with site management to identify high potential risk and regular site walk through. Plan and conduct regular management site walk
• Assist in the accident/incident investigation and recommend improvement/preventive measures
• Maintain a documentation system to keep company, corporate and mandatory EHS rules/ regulations, communication materials, inspection and audit reports etc to ensure that the major activities are properly documented according to needs

Reporting and Monitoring

• Regularly monitor site EHS KPI and present the KPI progress in site monthly meeting and create awareness on the KPI Progress
• Monitor Near miss (NM) reporting of all site employees and follow up with department managers for the counter measures
• Active follow up on UA, UC, NM, incident counter measures and make sure the actions are closed within the target date and the same is reflected in GID

Responsible Care (RC) Activities

• Be a code leader for RC Code 3,4,7, 8 & 9
• Ensure all the RC questionnaire for these codes are compiled and the document are well managed

Act as a MAT (Mutual Aid Team) member

• Attend the MAT training
• Support drill arrange by authority

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related discipline is preferred
• Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience working in a Production Plant and having worked in EHS related role is highly a plus
• Fresh talent is also welcome as far as the talent is willing to put effort and learn about EHS task and have a safety-oriented mindset
• Reading and communication skill in English is required. Fluent in English will be an advantage. Medium level of communication is acceptable with an expectation to develop after joining
