A DAY IN THE LIFE...
- Prepare necessary documents for green coffee direct procurement of the following year.
- Periodically purchase green coffee according to Nestle's target, in terms of quantity, quality and timing.
- Manage the buying station operations and mobile buying units in line with Nestle standards.
- Provide technical assistance to coffee growers by Group training, Coffee Bulletin, Handbook, Radio program, Demonstration plot to increase their productivity and quality.
- Develop farmer groups and set learning center for them.
- Coordinate with local authorities, e.g. Chumphon Horticulture Research Centre, Provincial Agricultural Extension Office and Provincial Internal Trade Office.
- Field excursion and crop survey to update information of robusta coffee and other necessary information of the plantation areas, in terms of crops, yield, quality, price, local climate, local trader's movement, etc.
- Coordinate and provide technical assistance to the coffee growers for planting the new recommended clones as well as applying good agricultural practices in the demonstration plots.
- Coordinate with farmer for farmer field trials/Local genetic selection.
- Study on agronomic performances, processing and sensory characteristics of Robusta coffee for coffee varieties selection.
- Drive farmers on a journey toward recognized Sustainable Agricultural Nestle.
- Make constantly available green material for rapid multiplication of a large coffee collection including varieties of Coffee canephore.
- Recommend to coffee growers where Nestlé use direct procurement and/or support local supply, the best planting material for the benefit of both growers and processors.
- Make constantly available comparative samples for any analyses. I.e. soil analysis, sensory evaluation etc.
ARE YOU A FIT?
- Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Science or related field; 5 years’ experience in related field
- Proficiency in English and Thai is required
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel.
- Strong research, decision making, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Awareness of industry trends, technology, and developments.
- Able to work under pressure
