Overview:
As an Event Manager at IDC, you will be helping plan and oversee all aspects of an event from the conception of the initial idea to the last detail of the event. You will be suggesting ideas, themes, or other creative possibilities to help the event and managing all staff related to the event including caterers, entertainment, activities, and branding. You will also be in charge of adherence to the budget and the timeline as well as making sure that all stakeholders are communicated with.
Your key responsibilities:
IDC is the most respected global technology market research firm operating in over 110 countries worldwide. We are looking for a highly motivated experienced event planner who has experience with organizing events from A to Z and is based in Istanbul.
As an Event Manager at IDC, you will be helping plan and oversee all aspects of an event from the conception of the initial idea to the last detail of the event. You will be suggesting ideas, themes, or other creative possibilities to help the event and managing all staff related to the event including caterers, entertainment, activities, and branding. You will also be in charge of adherence to the budget and the timeline as well as making sure that all stakeholders are communicated with.
Type of position: Permanent, full-time, hybrid-working supported
Your key responsibilities:
- Being responsible for the project team to achieve the success of IDC’s event execution,
- Executing events, which includes handling all logistics (including venue research and selection, negotiating and contracting with hotels and suppliers, entertainment and activities, on-site management, etc.),
- Suggesting ideas, themes, or other creative possibilities to help the event,
- Liaising with local sponsors before and after each event,
- Managing event budgets, achieving profit target for IDC events/conferences in Turkey,
- Being responsible for creating and updating local events websites (previous Cvent experience is a plus),
- Acting as mentor and line manager to a team member,
- You may be required to travel to regional events from time to time.
Qualifications:
- Previous event organization experience is mandatory (around 5+ years is ideal),
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal,
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience,
- Experience with events in the IT sector is a plus,
- Intermediate PC skills (MS Windows; MS Excel, Word, and Power Point),
- Team leadership and event strategy experience is highly desired,
- Being routine resistant, detail-oriented, able to work under pressure,
- Able and willing to learn and follow internal processes and guidelines,
- Ability to pay special attention to handling sensitive client information,
- Ability to travel to regional events if needed (META region).
