Job Description: Fabrication Workshop Supervisor (Steel Structural Fabrication and Heavy Machinery Repair)

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Workshop Supervisor for a steel structural fabrication and repair workshop specializing in the construction of structures for various processing equipment, conveyors, and the maintenance and repair of heavy machinery, including crushers, screens, and washers. The ideal candidate should have 5-10 years of local UAE experience and be willing to relocate to Dubai. Strong computer skills, reporting skills, and hands-on experience in the repair and maintenance of crushers, screens, and washers are an added benefit. Additionally, leadership qualities, planning abilities, excellent communication skills, and effective time management are essential. Responsibilities:
· Supervise and lead a team of workshop technicians (welder, fabricators, mechanics, electricians) engaged in structural fabrication, conveyor construction, and heavy machinery maintenance and repair.
· Oversee the fabrication and construction of structures and conveyors according to design specifications and quality standards.
· Coordinate and prioritize repair and maintenance tasks for heavy machinery, including crushers, screens, and washers, ensuring timely completion and minimal downtime.
· Monitor workshop operations to ensure compliance with safety protocols, operational guidelines, and industry regulations.
· Collaborate with the engineering and design teams to review project plans, identify potential issues, and provide technical guidance.
· Foster and maintain safe work culture working hand in hand with Safety department.
· Manage inventory levels of spare parts and consumables, ensuring availability for maintenance and repair activities.
· Plan and schedule maintenance activities, inspections, and equipment testing to optimize machinery performance and reliability.
· Develop and maintain maintenance records, repair logs, and documentation of workshop activities.
· Conduct performance evaluations, provide coaching and training, and identify development opportunities for workshop staff.
· Foster a culture of continuous improvement by implementing best practices, process enhancements, and innovative solutions.
Requirements:
· 5-10 years of local UAE experience in a workshop environment, preferably in structural fabrication and heavy machinery maintenance and repair.
· Strong knowledge of structural fabrication techniques, conveyor construction, and maintenance and repair of heavy machinery, including crushers, screens, and washers.
· Proficiency in computer skills, including experience with reporting and data management.
· Excellent leadership qualities and the ability to effectively supervise and motivate a team of technicians.
· Strong planning and organizational skills to optimize resources and meet project deadlines.
· Effective communication skills to liaise with internal teams, external stakeholders, and clients.
· Proven time management skills to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
· Familiarity with relevant industry regulations and best practices in structural fabrication and heavy machinery maintenance.
· Software skills like Auto CAD is an added benefit.
· Willingness to relocate to Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
· Bachelors in engineering or equivalent qualification is required. Additional certifications or training in structural fabrication, welding, or machinery maintenance, project management are desirable.
