Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Management:
- Oversee all nursery operations, including staffing, curriculum planning, and facility management.
- Lead and mentor nursery staff, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
- Develop, implement, and review policies and procedures to ensure the nursery meets the highest standards of safety, care, and education.
- Curriculum Development and Delivery:
- Design and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum that aligns with the school's mission and values.
- Evaluate and update curriculum and learning materials to meet the diverse needs of young learners.
- Ensure a stimulating, engaging environment that fosters early childhood development in language, numeracy, social skills, and creativity.
- Quality Assurance and Compliance:
- Maintain the nursery’s compliance with relevant local regulations and school policies.
- Monitor and assess the quality of teaching and learning, providing feedback and support to improve nursery standards.
- Work closely with the school leadership to meet the educational and developmental needs of children effectively.
- Parental Engagement and Communication:
- Build strong, trusting relationships with parents and caregivers, keeping them informed of their child’s progress.
- Address parental concerns with empathy, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Organize and lead parent engagement activities, such as workshops and events, to foster a supportive community.
- Resource Management:
- Oversee the budget for the nursery department, managing resources efficiently to provide a high-quality learning environment.
- Ensure the nursery is equipped with safe, high-quality learning materials and facilities.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in early childhood education, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Knowledge of early years frameworks and curriculum development.
- Strong understanding of health, safety, and safeguarding standards in early childhood education.
- Excellent leadership and organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children, staff, and parents.
- Ability to create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment for young learners.
- A commitment to ongoing professional development and a passion for early childhood education.
