Islamic Mentor for Non-Native Speakers

Citizens School is seeking a dedicated and passionate Islamic Mentor for non-native speakers, for Years 2 to 8. If you are enthusiastic about shaping the lives of young learners and have experience teaching within the UAE, we encourage you to apply.
Position Summary:
The Islamic Mentor will be responsible for delivering engaging and informative Islamic Education lessons to non-native speakers. The ideal candidate will embrace innovative teaching practices, tailoring lessons to meet the individual needs of each student. This role will require adaptability, creativity, and a passion for fostering a love of learning in the classroom.
Key Responsibilities:
Interested candidates are invited to submit their TES online application, including a CV and cover letter addressed to the HR Department. Please include contact details of three professional referees, one of whom must be your current or most recent School.
The preferred start date is 2nd January 2025. However, we are keen to appoint the right candidate and will remain flexible for the ideal applicant. All candidates will be subject to safer recruitment checks in line with our safeguarding policies.

- Islamic Education to non-native speakers from Years 2 to 8, ensuring lessons are aligned with the UAE’s curriculum standards.
- Embrace an innovative approach to curriculum design, applying updated best practices in education.
- Foster an inclusive classroom environment, catering to diverse learning needs, abilities, and interests.
- Promote high standards of communication, collaboration, curiosity, and creativity among students.
- Demonstrate a clear understanding of integrating Islamic values within the broader educational context, fostering spiritual and academic growth.
- Model effective classroom management techniques to ensure a positive learning atmosphere.
- A bachelor’s degree in Islamic Education.
- Experience teaching Islamic Studies within the UAE.
- Strong understanding of adapting lessons for non-native speakers.
- Proven ability to innovate and tailor curriculum to meet the individual needs of learners.
- Experience working within a primary curriculum, particularly with the development of literacy and numeracy skills in an Islamic context.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with colleagues and students.
