The role…
The primary role of the Analyst is to produce high-quality, analytical content for the Global Data Financial Services team based in our London office. This role specifically will focus on the banking and payments sector. This role requires a strong ability to conduct both primary and secondary desktop research, offering insights that drive strategic decision-making for our clients. The analyst will also be required to collect and analyze numerical inputs from our existing databases and external sources.
Additionally, analysts may have an opportunity to work on projects such as primary research and survey design, webinars, custom deliverables, and created data visualisation using specialist software. Part of the job is also presenting content authored by the analysts to our customers and answering client queries related to the analyst’s area of expertise.
Our goal is to maintain and enhance Global Data’s reputation as a provider of exceptional insight, helping the business decisions of thousands of clients, ranging from start-ups to global blue-chip companies. Our financial services division is at the forefront of delivering actionable intelligence to clients worldwide, focusing on banking, payments, insurance, and wealth management.
Our analysts usually specialise in one of these areas, but they may be required to cover more than one subsector.
Key responsibilities:
- Producing a range of content types to deadline e.g. opinion pieces, market reports, databases and in-depth issue reports.
- Shaping and scoping the story for each content type. This includes conducting primary and secondary research, manipulating data sets to highlight key insights and notable trends and drawing conclusions from the gathered data.
- Conducting telephone interviews with industry specialists and building and maintaining relationship with contacts.
- Working as part of a team on various projects and liaising with other areas of the business, including sales, marketing, client services and software development.
- Handling client queries by providing tailored insights and analysis to meet their specific needs.
- Producing marketing brochures and slide decks for client presentations and webinars.
- Analysing market trends and competitive landscapes within the banking and payments sectors.
- Have at least 2 years of professional experience either within research / insights role, or in the financial services industry
- Demonstrate interest in financial services and understanding of trends affecting the industry.
- Possess excellent written English to produce client-facing material in Word and Power Point.
- Be numerate – this is essential for manipulating data sets and extracting relevant information in Excel.
- Have excellent interpersonal skills in order to work with a range of individuals at all levels and engage with key stakeholders, including the wider research team, the data team, editorial, client services, sales and marketing.
- Possess excellent time management and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work independently and produce new ideas.
- Be passionate about research, with an interest in consumer finance and the curiosity to investigate trends and issues.
- Be competent across the Microsoft Office package.
