Dartford Tigers Basketball Club is a thriving community-based club dedicated to promoting the love of basketball. Junior Program Objectives:

• Foster a lifelong love for basketball through skill-building, teamwork, and competition
• Enhance mental and physical well-being among youth participants
• Create a “safe space” where young people can connect and build friendships
• Provide structured growth opportunities for youth at both elite and recreational levels

Overview of the Role
We are seeking motivated and professional basketball coaches who share our passion for empowering young athletes. Coaches will lead either our Elite junior program, where players compete in a league or our Recreational program, focused on skill-building and fun. Coaches should be enthusiastic about developing young talent and creating a positive, inclusive basketball environment.
Main Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high-quality training sessions tailored to either elite or recreational participants, fostering development and enjoyment.
• Represent the Dartford Tigers brand and values, supporting our mission to grow basketball across South East and Kent.
• Act as role models, inspiring young athletes to reach their full potential.

Key Duties

• Conduct structured basketball sessions aligned with program goals and player needs.
• Manage session-related administration, including risk assessments, attendance registers, and incident reporting.
• Ensure participant safety and well-being in accordance with Dartford Tigers' Safeguarding policy.
• Build positive relationships with players, parents, volunteers, and community partners to enhance the overall experience.

Qualifications and Skills

• Must have or willing to obtain a Enhanced DBS check (Essential).
• Possess or be willing to obtain a Basketball England Level 2 coaching certificate or above.
• First Aid and Safeguarding & Child Protection training (or willingness to complete).
• Strong teamwork and workload management skills.
