Team Members under 21 will be paid £1.00 per hour less, which is significantly above National Minimum Wage guidelines for this age group.
About the Care Home:
The care home is located in the centre of Edwinstowe, near Mansfield. It provides a homely environment with a selection of garden areas and offers personal, nursing, and dementia care to 49 residents.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities for Cook:
  • Provide, manage, and develop a high-quality catering service to residents, guests, and visitors.
  • Operate a safe, professional, and cost-effective catering service within company operational standards and comply with all statutory requirements.
  • Ensure residents are provided with a choice of nutritious meals and snacks throughout the day, following standard menus.
  • Ensure food orders are made punctually twice a week and that food costs remain within budget throughout the year.
Essential Requirements for Cook:
  • Basic or intermediate Food Safety Certificate.
  • Willingness to work towards a Level 3 catering qualification if not already held.
  • Two years’ catering experience.
  • One year of experience managing people.
  • Knowledge of health and safety in the workplace.
  • Experience conducting effective person-centred one-to-ones.
  • Live within 25 minutes of the home.
Preferred Requirements for Cook:
  • One year’s experience working in a similar role in a residential or nursing home; or
  • Hold a Level 3 qualification.
  • One year’s experience in a similar role.
  • Two years of catering experience in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience creating nutritious, well-balanced, and attractive menus.
  • Managing/training a team.
  • Budgeting and control of purchasing.
  • Motivating and working within a team.
  • Using new products and developments in the catering industry.
  • One year’s experience working as a Chef in a Hospital, Nursing Home, or Residential Home.
  • Conduct effective person-centred one-to-ones.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: From £12.88 per hour
Expected hours: 7 – 49 per week
