Cover Supervisor
Salary: HCC - H4 Scale 6-9* actual salary £16,742 - £17,577 per annum including outer fringe allowance, based on 30 hours per week, term time only
Hourly rate: £12.74 - £13.38 including outer fringe allowance
Hours: 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8.30am - 3.30pm, term time only
Start Date: As soon as possible
*Full-time equivalent salary = H4 Scale 6-9 £24,582 - £25,808 (including outer fringe allowance of £689 pa)
We are looking for a Cover Supervisor to start as soon as possible. The successful job holder will be responsible for covering teaching for staff absence and training days. You will be required to cover all subjects. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who is able to use their own initiative whilst also being able to relate to and establish a rapport with young people.
Educated to A Level with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, your main responsibilities will include undertaking whole class supervision in the absence of the class teacher, setting work previously prepared by the teacher; developing curricular knowledge as required by the school; applying the school’s Behaviour Management Policy and reporting any difficulties to the supervising teacher/Head of Faculty; setting homework previously prepared by the teacher; undertaking observations of the students and contributing to student records.

- Have a positive, hands-on and proactive approach to work
- Have the ability to remain calm and defuse challenging situations
- Be committed to promoting inclusion, equality and diversity
- Have a proactive approach to safeguarding and student wellbeing
- Be resilient and assertive when required
- Have previous experience and an understanding of vulnerabilities in school - including safeguarding and special educational needs - is desirable but not essential, as training will be provided
