Due to our continuous growth, we now wish to add to our team by recruiting additional Electrical Engineers to join the talent at VSM.
The role:
You will be working as part of a team on various projects for our clients applying your electrical skills and fault-finding ability, and providing maintenance support for them. This could include anything from helping to assemble and install machinery to attending a break down. The role will be as wide as it is varied involving assistance on projects or planned and reactive electrical maintenance and installation. We are looking for talented & experienced multi-skilled individuals, keen to enjoy the variance of work opportunities this role offers .You will have the opportunity to learn, develop and grow as the company does through new situations, new techniques, and have support from VSM to help you succeed .This is a full-time role of 40hrs a week, Monday to Friday, with a core timetable of 8am to 4.30pm with very occasional weekend and shift work when required by VSM's customers (compensated at overtime rate or lieu time based on employee preference).

Essential criteria:
- Past experience inspecting, diagnosing and repairing 3 phase motors, control circuits, safety circuits.
- Relevant post apprenticeship level 3 or above in electrical installation of electrical systems
- A full clean UK/EU driving license
- Ability to work well under pressure as an individual and as part off a team
- Ability to read and use effectively wiring diagrams, schematics and Process & Instrumentation drawings
- Efficient and organised individual with awareness of the importance of hygiene and "as you go" housekeeping.
- Prior experience delivering maintenance solutions in a fast paced food production environment
- PLC qualifications/experience
- IPAF mewp license
- Fixed wire testing qualifications and experience
- Sound knowledge off electrical systems, automated control systems and plcs
- Food safety qualifications
- Fixed wire testing experience
- Panel design/build/installation and commissioning.
- Reliable, trustworthy, flexible and focused individual
- Excellent organisation and communication skills
- Excellent problem solver with analytical and critical thinking
- Physically fit and agile, ability to work comfortably at heights and confined spaces
- Excellent time keeper and time manager off tasks or projects
- Company vehicle (van) provided with fuel card for business use
- 22 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays per annum
- Uniform and PPE provided
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £32,500.00-£40,000.00 per year
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability
- Electrical engineering: 3 years (preferred)
- UK or EU driving licence (required)
- Level 3 Electrical Inspection and Testing, e.g 18th Edition (required)
