Heneb: The Trust for Welsh Archaeology
Experienced Advisory Services Archaeologist (Full-time)

Duties and responsibilities:
- To advise local and national government, statutory undertakers and other parties on the historic environment implications of land use change across north-west Wales, both within and outside planning and other regulatory regimes, to ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policy and guidance.
- Interrogating the regional Historic Environment Record and other relevant sources to inform advice at all stages of the process, and assisting with the input of resulting information into Heneb data recording systems.
- To specify the scope of land use change/development-led archaeological projects, including provision of detailed design briefs as required.
- To monitor archaeological projects to ensure compliance with an agreed scope of work and professional practice, including the standards of the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists (CIf A); including report review and attending meetings and field visits as required.
- On occasion, to provide evidence at planning appeals and public inquiries, and to review advice and prepare proofs of evidence in advance of such hearings.
- To respond as required to enquiries from members of the public, the media and other interested parties in relation to historic environment matters arising from planning proposals or other land use change.
- To assist with maintaining and developing systems to record archaeological planning and heritage management advice work.
- To prepare or assist with the preparation or reports and statistics.
- Assist with the provision of public guidance and information about the heritage management advice work delivered by the organisation.
- Assist with the provision of training to partners, users and stakeholders.
- Undertaking other duties considered to be commensurate with the role and for supporting the general aims of the organisation.
- To adhere to high standards of ethical and responsible behaviour in the conduct of your work as described in the CIf A Code of Conduct.
- To operate within Heneb policies and procedures as described within Heneb policy documents.
- To deal with information with due regard to confidentiality and data protection.
- To provide support to other members of staff as required and to establish good working relationships both internally and externally.
- To participate in the identification of training requirements and undertake training and development in line with agreed appraisals.
- To attend Heneb internal meetings as and when required.
- To adhere to Heneb administration and financial requirements.

Pay: From £32,619.00 per year
